The social side of youth!

Getting together gives us opportunities to chat and have fun whilst discussing topics about our faith and being teenagers.

It’s great sharing our opinions and points of view and just generally finding out more about each other.

Anne and Graham let us take over their house pictures>>, and are very good at providing us with refreshments and a space to chill.

They are also great at teaching us more about our faith and giving us time just to appreciate how great God really is.

We do a range of activities – discussions and prayers and creative stuff and watch TV clips and listen to music and lots more, whatever fits best for the topic.

ITS GREAT, ITS AMAZING, WE LOVE IT!!

Detling 2006.

This was my first detling and I didn't know what to expect but the experience was amazing. One of things that I found very touching was the prayer teams. On the second night at the main event I went up for prayer with a mate. We both have pretty much the same background the bad and the good. But one guy was praying for us and he started to say things about how we would use the negative in our past for the glory of god. (Considering we have both been through the same storms it was amazing) (We started thinking have we met this guy before?) That night I really felt God had moved my life forward.

I was then being prayed for by a French mission team and they said can we just pray that you receive the spirit. Ok I said and as they were praying I said to God "You moved my life forward the other day, what about my career". Then the most AMAZING thing happened one of team said they saw me on stage as a shining light for JESUS. I also felt that God was Calling me to take this path on the last night (I think God was using Eric)

On the last night I prayed that the same mate I went up for prayer with would just feel happy inside. (I had no idea what would make him happy) but in the end we were at the extreme event when someone took him aside and told him he would be able to choose his words correctly and keep leaders calm when everyone else was loosing their heads. That was 30 seconds before I ended up crying in his arms. With his comforting and words and support there because things had got a little tense at the end. He was amazing and this gift is the one he needs in his life I'm sure. He said the thing that he wanted most at the moment was to know God's purpose for him (we nearly got to the end of the week with no revelation) and then BANG! On the last night. Straight in the fast lane, God doesn't give you these gifts for nothing)

so never ever forget this:

GODS TIMING IS PERFECT

Detling 2007

Last summer a group of us went to a Christian festival, called Detling summer conference. There was a range of activities to participate in for all ages. There was a specific section for the youth. We camped together as a group. During the day we all went of in our separate groups as there was a range of activities on each day to suit everybody’s needs. There was a main marquee were every body came together for a meeting in the evening, where the main band played the worship music. There were several guest speakers. Including R.T Kendal, John Paul Jackson and the main event was lead by Eric Delve.

There was a separate youth village with 2 youth marquees for different ages which had there own separate worship bands.

Youth ServicesYouth Service

Aimed at ages 11 to 18, these youth services are free spirited, lively and highly entertaining.  Sometimes they allow adults in ( don't miss it ). Contact Sue Jones, Parish Administrator for details of the next youth service.

Youth Services and me

“…having done the talk at the youth service (and having been completely terrified during it!) I can say that the youth services are well worth going to and are well organised. Unless I’m talking the talk…The format is very laid back, using cushions rather than the pews…”

Josh

“…they’re great; lots of people turn out to them …everyone is welcome.  The PowerPoint is slick and well designed.  The talks are aimed at the Youth and guide us further on our journey of faith…you should come along to them…”
