Living Stones Update

Total Raised So Far £60967

March 2009

Plans submitted by our architect went to the Diocesan Advisory Committee meeting at the end of February as we were asked.

Although the papers arrived in time for the meeting of the DAC, there was no time in the meeting to discuss our proposal!

The next scheduled meeting of the DAC is March 26th and we are assured that our project will under discussion at this meeting! The DAC covers a wide range of proposals from across the diocese and there is sometimes a log-jam of material under consideration.  Ours was the unfortunate victim last meeting.

In the meantime, the architect from the DAC has been to All Saints to see for himself our proposals and to check them against plans.  The process is necessary, since the DAC is in effect our planning authority in a similar way to which the local council acts with regard to proposed work in private homes.

We continue to look for Building Regulations Approval for the external drainage works for the toilet and sink drains and are hopeful that this approval will come through during the months covered by this magazine!

We hope to go out to tender for contractors during this same period or as soon as we have the DAC approval.

Grant applications are going to two grant making bodies and we hope for some favourable response to add to the excellent fund raising work which goes on. A COMMUNITY QUESTIONNAIRE has been devised to gain local information and compile some data in support of our application.  Many thanks to all those who have diligently completed those forms!!  Please support the Living Stones events where you see listed in the diary and elsewhere.

The future of the church organ, badly damaged by water following the theft of metals from the roof last May, is being considered under the terms of the Living Stones project.

This unforeseen challenge will take its place in the course of the phases of the Living Stones project and a small team has been hard at work gathering information and experience to best advise the PCC on the next steps to take.

The next meeting of the Living Stones team will be on 30th April 8.00pm in All Saints .
